IM is different from traditional communications because it is less formal and you can ask quick questions.
IM is a form of communication that involves real time interaction between grapus or a single person.
Some librarians are afreaid of being overwhelmed with questions on IM, some don't type very fast, and some prefer face-to-face interactions.
